The annual Safe and Sane Halloween party in uptown, sponsored by the nice folks over at the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce, was a lot of fun despite a brief rain shower and windy late-autumn conditions. Around a thousand kids showed up for the big party to collect tasty treats from businesses along Main Street in uptown.
Organizations and businesses from all over town also came to take part in the fun, and hand out goodies to the little trick or treaters. There were so many creative costumes! Susanville people know how to do Halloween well.
Main Street was shut down for the event which featured a costume contest for people and another for pets, and dance performances from Joan’s Studio of Dance and J and J Performing Arts.
