Susanville’s annual Turkey Trot was again a huge success this year, featuring more than 300 runners who showed up early Thanksgiving morning at the Hall of Justice on Riverside Drive to start the holiday with a little turkey-themed fun for a good cause – helping to stock the shelves at the Susanville Salvation Army.
According to one of the event’s organizers, Charlotte Roberts, the Turkey Trot brought in just shy of $900 in cash donations for the Salvation Army, along with a van full of non-perishable contributions.
Roberts thanked Lassen County Superior Court Judge Mark Nareau for helping make the Hall of Justice’s parking lot available.
