Lassen Family Services Parenting Group Classes. Reduce the chaos and power struggles; learn an approach to parenting that is both simple and effective. “Positive Parenting with a Plan,” by Matthew A. Johnson, Psy. D., MSW, helps parents establish order and structure in the home, including rewards and positive consequences that work! Designed as a 12-week program, group and individualized instruction is provided on an on-going basis. Group classes are held Tuesdays from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. and Fridays from 10:00–11:00 a.m.

The Susanville Fire Department in cooperation with SEMSA and the Lassen County Health Department will be hosting a community CPR/First AID class. The class will be held at the Susanville Fire Department, 1505 Main St. The class starts at 8:00a.m. and will last approximately 6 hours with a half hour lunch break. This course is intended for the general public and will not meet professional rescuer requirements. If you or anyone you know would like to learn this lifesaving skill or have any questions, please call the Susanville Fire Department at 530-257-5152. The class size is limited to 30 people, cost $17.00.
