The Lassen County Fairgrounds were packed with kids and their families Saturday at the big annual Community Easter Egg Hunt. The happy youngsters hunted for more than 7,000 candy-stuffed plastic Easter Eggs hidden in the grass around the grounds.
There were four different fields for different age groups and each time announcer Gary Felt and air-horn specialist Jessica Meanor said, “Go!” the little ones were off to swarm the field looking for eggs.
It’s a big event which requires a lot of volunteer help. From the volunteers who showed up Thursday to stuff eggs with candy, to all all the nice folks who showed up to help the Easter Bunny hide eggs Saturday morning, it was a certainly a group effort by a lot of people.
Special mention, of course, should be made of Susanville’s Easter Bunny, Tina Jacobs. Also thanks to Susanville royalty Gracie, Ariana, Becky and Jaide who made sure that everybody had enough candy!
