The Race Across America is one the most respected and longest running endurance sports events in the world and is seen as a pinnacle of athletic achievement not only in cycling circles but the greater sporting community as well.

According to event organizers, “There is no other race in the world like RAAM. The Race inspires everyone who has been a part of it – racer, crew, staff and fans alike. RAAM is the true test of speed, endurance, strength and camaraderie, the ideal combination of work and fun! There is no race that matches the distance, terrain and weather, no other event that tests a team’s spirit from beginning to end.”

The race begins at 2:00p.m. on Saturday. Follow this link for our coast to coast coverage. Thanks to Crew Member and WebXtra Correspondent Jim Chapman for all of these great pictures

According to crew member Jim Chapman, “It’s all about the bike and Rick and Anna have a nice one!”

Stowing all of that gear takes some creative packing. Anna and Trinette Heimer are double checking that everything needed for the adventure, including the crew, are loaded up into the vans that are carrying the team across country.
