A 16-year-old Westwood resident was injured Wednesday after being struck by a reckless driver at around 1:00p.m., near the intersection of Fir and Second streets in Westwood.
According to details provided by the Susanville office of the California Highway Patrol, the teenager was walking northbound on Fir Street when a gray, four-door sedan entered the intersection and began performing dangerous driving maneuvers, known as “donuts.”
The vehicle struck the teen in the leg, knocking them to the ground.
The driver of the sedan fled the scene without stopping to render aid or providing information.
The teen refused medical care and left the scene after contact was made with his parents.
