Susanville is officially back in the limelight as our very own Benjamin “Coach” Wade returns to the small screen for the historic 50th season of the CBS reality show Survivor. The journey begins tonight, February 25th, at 8:00p.m. on CBS, marking a monumental milestone for the franchise and a proud moment for our community.
Coach has already made his mark on the show through three iconic appearances in Tocantins, Heroes vs. Villains, and South Pacific, but this season promises a version of the legendary player shaped by his deep roots right here in Lassen County.
Between his roles as the music instructor at Lassen High School and the Artistic Director for the Susanville Symphony, Coach has been balancing a demanding professional life and family time to take on this latest challenge. He shared that his fulfillment in his local life—from his kids and his job to the Symphony and the wider community—has provided a newfound sense of joy and confidence that he believes will be evident throughout the season.
Tonight’s premiere kicks off a unique “In the Hands of the Fans” theme, where viewers influenced everything from tribe colors to major gameplay twists. If you can’t catch the broadcast live on CBS, you can stream the action on Paramount+ as Coach faces off against a powerhouse cast of 24 returning veterans and legendary winners.
The excitement doesn’t stop with the premiere, as the community is invited to celebrate Coach’s return in person. On Wednesday, March 4th, the Sierra Theatre will host a free watch party where fans can watch the second episode on the big screen.
Doors at the theatre will open at 7:00p.m. for a special preseason interview and exclusive insights before the episode airs from 8:00 to 9:30p.m. Concessions, beer, and wine will be available for purchase, making it the perfect night to cheer on Susanville’s favorite Survivor as he navigates the ultimate game of social survival once again.
