In a collaborative effort to support and empower the youth of our community, the Lassen College Nursing students and the Susanville Soroptimists are presenting the GLOW Project, an engaging and interactive event is designed specifically for boys and girls in 4th through 8th grade, focusing on the core pillars of Growth, Leadership, Optimism and Worth.
As part of their pediatric coursework, the nursing students have curated a program to help students navigate the complexities of growing up in a safe, supportive, and fun environment.
The evening is packed with games, group discussions, and hands-on activities that allow participants to explore vital, age-appropriate topics.
Throughout the session, students will dive into conversations regarding adolescent health and body image, address the challenges of bullying and online safety, and develop strong self-esteem alongside healthy coping skills.
The date of the event has changed. Originally scheduled for last week it will now be held at Lassen College on May 15th. Families should plan for check-in between 3:00 and 3:30p.m., with the full program running until 7:30p.m. To ensure a smooth experience, parents and guardians are asked to sign their students in upon arrival and return promptly for pick-up at the end of the evening.
Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Susanville Soroptimist, dinner will be provided for all participants at no cost.
Space is limited, so students are encouraged to register early to ensure they don’t miss this opportunity to build lasting connections and valuable life skills. You can sign up now by visiting the official registration page.
