Homecoming at Lassen High School is coming up the week of September 29th – October 3rd and the ASB class has chosen the theme “Northern Lights and Lassen Nights” for this year’s celebration.
The week will be filled with fun spirit days, such as PJ Day and Pink Out for the Powder Puff game on Wednesday night.
In addition to the big football games against Las Plumas on Friday (5:30-7:30), Lassen Volleyball will host UPrep on Tuesday 9/30 (4:30/5:30/6:30) and our Field Hockey teams play Pleasant Valley on Wednesday 10/1 (3:30/5:00).
Girls Golf will be on the road to Wilcox Oaks in Redding while Cross Country and Swim have the week off to enjoy the Homecoming festivities.
Students are in the process of electing their classmates to the Homecoming court. The Sophomore class is also hosting the Homecoming dance, more info to come.
This year the Alumni Association has planned a Tailgate BBQ on Friday at 5:00 before the game. I’ll have more details soon, so you might want to dust off your Letterman’s jacket for this fun event.
I still have a smile on my face after enjoying a wonderful weekend with Leo and our daughter Sofia. We drove seven hours to surprise her and the look on her face when she realized who the stranger was talking to her in Starbucks was the absolute best.
I think we all needed a break from our regular routine. We enjoyed exploring downtown McMinnville, good food, and a little trip to the Oregon coast. Sometimes a little change is all it takes to help you appreciate home.
Remember when news was ‘newsy’? When you read about weddings, family events and engagement announcements in the newspaper? If you have something that might be newsworthy, please submit it to [email protected] and I’ll do my best to include it here in “The Good Stuff.”
