LHS teachers are cozy in their PJs on this cloudy fall day

by Shelley Bennett

It’s Homecoming week at Lassen High and more students than normal showed up in their comfy PJ pants, which was today’s dress up day.

Combined with our “Starry Night” themed hallway, decorated with the colors of the Northern Lights, it made for a dreamy Monday.

Tomorrow is career day. I think being a Disney adult is in the future for me.

If you’re an alumnus, don’t miss our Tailgating Party on Friday! It starts at 5:00 in the parking lot of Guess Plumbing. Owner Warren Guess and his wife Kat are our gracious hosts. The Alumni Association will provide hot dogs, chips, cookies, and water.

Please RSVP by today, September 30th, to Deanna French at 1.530.251.0673 or [email protected]. Wear your best purple and gold and bring a chair!

The party will end at 7:00 in time to walk across the street and enjoy the Varsity football game against Las Plumas. Our alumni of the year, Kim Brown and Sandy Mineau, will also be honored.

The annual Powder Puff game takes place on Wednesday evening at 7:00. The teams (seniors/frosh v. juniors/sophs) have been practicing for weeks and the competition is always tough.

Zato’s Sno Mountain will be there with all of their goodies, so there is no need to make dinner! The price of admission is $5/adults and high school students without an ASB sticker and $3/senior citizens, veterans, school age children, and high school students with and ASB sticker.

The crowd is asked to Pink Out in their attire to support the girls.

To finish the week, students are encouraged to find someone to twin with on Thursday and wear neon according to class (frosh/purple, soph/yellow, juniors/green, and seniors/blue on Friday.

The traditional Homecoming assembly and parade will take place at the end of the school day on Friday. Tune in next week for the royalty and float results!

Thank you to our ASB officers, class, and advisor Angelia Harris for their hard work in planning this year’s festivities, “Northern Lights and Lassen Nights.” It will definitely be a homecoming to remember!

Remember when news was ‘newsy’? When you read about weddings, family events and engagement announcements in the newspaper? If you have something that might be newsworthy, please submit it to [email protected] and I’ll do my best to include it here in “The Good Stuff.”
