Mr and Mrs Bondon with their pups Dash and Max

On Saturday July 9th, 2022 surrounded by the people who love them the most, Katelyn Martin and Micah Bondon were married in a double ring ceremony.

The bride was radiant in an ivory gown with lace and pearl accents. She accessorized with a cathedral length veil attached to a jeweled headpiece, a dainty pearl necklace, and sparkly earrings.

The dapper groom wore an all-black tuxedo accented with a blush-colored bow tie. They were accompanied by their sweet pups, Dash and Max, who wore matching pinstripes.

Their human attendants included groomsmen Kyle Martin, Justin Cardenas, Jake Morgan, Jeremy Bondon, and Nick Hibbits with Kenny Crandall and David Estacio sharing Best Men duties. They wore black slacks, white dress shirts, and blush bow ties and suspenders.

Bridesmaids, Gabriella Karns, Hunter Lindsey, Stephanie Plessas, Jessica Speiker, and Jordan Sandeen, were clad in blush chiffon and carried beautiful mixed bouquets in shades of pink, peach, and ivory.

Maids of Honor, Madisyn Harlan and Abrial Scheff, donned full-length sequin gowns, also in blush. Flower girl, Ellie Bondon led the way down the aisle, boisterously tossing her rose petals, while Kaylee Karns wrangled the dogs with grace.

Minister Gerry Hibbitts officiated the ceremony and emphasized how special it was for him to be involved. He noted that the pair has a multitude of strong couples to look to for inspiration, including the bride’s grandparents, Virginia and Kim Erb and Shirley and David Martin, who have both been married for more than fifty years.

Micah and Katelyn shared their personal vows and as they spoke, the attendees could hear the emotion in their voices. From meeting each other for the first time at the Lassen County Fair and reconnecting a few years later at Lake Almanor to road trip adventures and setting up a home, the two spun a tale of love, laughter, and support for one another.
The guests erupted in applause as Katelyn and Micah sealed their vows with a kiss and it was time to start the celebration.

Far Far Away’s reception area was swathed in white twinkle lights and gossamer.

Photographs of Micah and Katelyn’s relationship added a special touch to the décor. One of the most unique elements were the tables, which were each named for one of Katelyn’s students and included their thoughts on weddings and marriage. It was the perfect backdrop for this fairytale wedding.

The guests enjoyed signature cocktails, a delicious dinner, and scrumptious cake created by Dana Hirsche. The three-tiered beauty was constructed of white cake, lemon and raspberry fillings, and buttercream icing. Then it was time to dance! Which the bridal party and guests did with enthusiasm into the late hours of the night.

It was truly a magical day that reflected the love Micah and Katelyn have for each other and those around them. Congratulations to them as they begin a new chapter of their love story.

Katelyn is the daughter of Cyndy and David Martin of Susanville and is currently a Kindergarten teacher at McKinley School. Micah is the son of Janette and Shawn Bondon of Chester and is a Data Coordinator at Lassen Family Services. They will continue to make their home in Susanville.
