Tonight’s the night for Dandy’s Great Duck Adoption & Race, an entertaining fundraiser hosted by the Lassen County Office of Education to support our local Sober Graduation program, and there is still time for you to be a part of the fun!
For just $5 per duck, participants can enter for a chance to take home cash prizes while helping ensure a safe, memorable, and drug-and-alcohol-free celebration for graduating high school seniors across Lassen County.
How to Adopt
Rubber ducks are available for adoption today at five local community locations:
- Lassen County Office of Education – 472-013 Johnstonville Road
- Zaengles Floor & Home – 2800 Main Street
- JDX KSUE – 3015 Johnstonville Road
- Margie’s Book Nook – 722 Main Street
- Plumas Bank – 3000 Riverside Drive
Ducks will also be available to adopt at this evening’s swim party.
Race Day & Cash Prizes
The adoption drive leads right up to the main event – Dandy’s Pool Party, taking place from 5:30 to 7:30p.m. at the Honey Lake Valley Community Pool.
All adopted ducks will hit the water for the big race at 7:00p.m. Top-finishing ducks will win big for their owners:
1st Place: $500 Cash
2nd Place: $300 Cash
3rd Place: $100 Cash
You do not need to be present at the race to win.
Free Family Fun at Dandy’s Pool Party
Hosted alongside Dandy the Smokeless Dragon, Dandy’s Pool Party offers a free, tobacco-free end-of-summer celebration for local families. Admission to the pool is completely free, and guests can enjoy free shaved ice, check out local community resource booths, and pick up giveaways throughout the evening.
