The Lassen County Narcotics Task Force has released details of the Thursday traffic stop that led agents to a large haul of weapons and drugs found at the suspect’s residence on Monrovia Street.Ā Ā
According to the task force’s report,Ā at about 10:30a.m.Ā theĀ agency initiated a high risk felony traffic stop on Alexander Avenue near Cornell Street.
The suspect, 34 year-old Susanville resident IsenĀ Peterson,Ā was reportedly driving a green Chevrolet Cavalier when he was pulled over.Ā Narcotics agents took Peterson intoĀ custody at the scene,Ā assisted by officers from the Susanville Police Department.
Peterson was searched byĀ theĀ officers andĀ over one ounce of suspected methamphetamine was found in a concealed container inĀ his clothing; the substance was separately packaged into eleven equal sized packages.
The narcotics task force immediately activated a search warrant team comprised of members of the Lassen County Interagency SWAT team, Lassen County District Attorneyās Office Investigations, High Desert State Prison and California Correctional Center. Those officers executed a tactical entry and search ofĀ Peterson’s residenceĀ on Monrovia Street.
The entire operation was pursuant to a local narcotics search warrant. The home was searched by drug detecting K-9, narcotics agents and Lassen County Sheriffās Office Detectives.
During the search, according to a press release issued by the task force, Ā a large amount of cash was found, along with drug packaging material, digital scales and five firearms. All the money and items were seized from the home.
The total amount of cash money was over $8,000.
IsenĀ Peterson was arrestedĀ and booked into Lassen County Jail for violations of possession, possession for sale, and trafficking methamphetamine. Petersonās bail was setĀ at $20,000. Based on the evidence found in this operation, the task force believes Isen Peterson is one of the major methamphetamine dealers in Lassen County.
The narcotics task force is estimatedĀ the street value of the suspect methamphetamine to beĀ over $4,000. The total weight of the substance was later weighed at about 41 grams. This investigation is part of a long term and ongoing investigation.
