Susanville Indian Rancheria’s Tribal Chairman Brandon Guitierez and Secretary Treasurer Aaron Dixon Sr. visited Washington DC last week to help lobby the U.S. Senate to vote on H.R. 2212.

The bill, which is co-sponsored by California Representative’s Doug LaMalfa and Norma Torres, takes into trust for the benefit of the Susanville Indian Rancheria approximately 301 acres of federal land currently under the administrative jurisdiction of the Bureau of Land Management.

In late November the bill passed the house with no opposition.
