A ‘Decoy Operation’ conducted by the Susanville Police Department and the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control on April 26th has resulted in the citation a clerk, for selling alcohol to minors, and another citation for an adult who served alcohol to minors.
Those who sold to the minor face a minimum fine of $250, and/or 24 to 32 hours of community service for a first violation according to the Susanville Police Department.
In addition, ABC will take administrative action against the alcoholic beverage license of the business. That may include a fine, a suspension of the license, or the permanent revocation of the license.
The Susanville Police Department thanked the decoys in this operation who volunteered their time.
This project is part of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control’s Education and Teen Alcohol Enforcement Program Grant, funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
