Two Doyle residents were arrested by the Lassen County Sheriff’s Department Tuesday after more than a pound of methamphetamine was found when officers searched the car they were driving.
According to Captain Kevin Jones from the LCSO, at 4:45 on the afternoon of May 6th, a Deputy with the Sheriff’s Department, assisted by a member of the California Highway Patrol, stopped a 2011 Chevy Camaro on Highway 395 at Red Rock Rd.
The purpose of the stop was to execute a search warrant obtained by the Lassen County Narcotics Task Force for the Chevy Camaro and the owner of the vehicle, 47 year-old Doyle resident Christina Corona.
“Due to the nature of the investigation,” explained Captain Jones, “LCSO K-9 Brinks and his handler responded for the execution of the search warrant.”
Assisted by Brinks, Task Force agents discovered over one pound of methamphetamine in the Chevy Camaro driven by Corona. In addition to the drugs, other items of evidence were discovered in the vehicle that according to law enforcement suggested the narcotics were possessed for the purpose of sales.
As part of the investigation, Lassen County Deputies along with members of the Susanville Police Department served a search warrant on a residence in the Doyle area, where Corona resides.
Corona and her passenger, 50 year-old Doyle resident Richard McCollum, were arrested and booked into the Lassen County Jail for numerous drug charges including; possession of narcotics for sale, transportation of narcotics for sale, transportation of narcotics across non-contiguous county lines and importation of narcotics into the State.
Bail was set at $90,000 for Christina Corona and $80,000 for Richard McCollum.
