sheriffcustodyTwo Janesville residents were arrested Friday evening and the Lassen County Sheriff’s Department is seeking a third after a search warrant seeking stolen property and drugs was served in the Janesville area.

According to details released this afternoon by Sergeant Kevin Jones, members of the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at a residence on Cummings Road in Janesville seeking evidence related to several thefts in the Janesville area.

Jones said that in the past several weeks three Janesville residents have reported power wire and fuses stolen from well-pump electrical panels on their ranches. The wire and fuses taken are made of copper and the suspects typically cut as much wire as possible, or take the copper fuses, to a recycler for money.

56 year-old Jack Stratton and 52 year-old Karlene Clifton were arrested at the scene.

Stratton was booked into the Lassen County Jail for possessing stolen property, conspiracy, theft, possession of illegal drugs and possession of drugs for sale. His bail was set at $35,000.
