Lassen County residents will have two special opportunities to help make spring clean-up a little easier thanks to the Lassen Regional Solid Waste Management Authority, the City of Susanville and Lassen County.
On Saturday, May 5th, from 8:30a.m., until 3:00p.m., or whenever trailers are full, there will be a free Tire Amnesty Day at the Bass Hill landfill.
Residents can bring up to nine car or light truck tires per vehicle. This is only for residential tire disposal and not open for businesses.
The folks at the landfill remind you to bring gloves because you must unload your tires.
On Friday, May 11th, from 8:30a.m. until 3:00p.m., or 350 vehicles, whichever happens first, the Bass Hill Landfill will be offering free Household Hazardous Waste disposal.
Residents can dispose of up to 15 gallons or 125 lbs. of household hazardous waste which includes things like paint stains, mercury, batteries, aerosol cans and herbicides.
For both days you must bring I.D. to prove you live in Lassen County. If you have questions you can call LRSWMA at 252-1273.
