The University of California, working in cooperation with Lassen County and the United States Department of Agriculture, are presenting a free event for youth ages 5 to 18 to learn all about preserving jams and jellies.
In a 45-minute session kids will learn to make low-sugar jelly and then enter it in the Lassen County Fair.
Everything needed to make the jelly will be provided, just choose from apple, grape, pomegranate or orange and the UC Master Food Preservers will take care of the rest.
Kids need to sign up for one 45-minute session between 10:00a.m. and 3:00p.m. There is a limit of only 5 kids per session, and one session per child, so follow this link and get registered today.
The Jr. Jams and Jellies workshop will be held Sunday, April 28th, in Jensen Hall at the Lassen County Fairgrounds.
