United Way of Northern California to Accept Community Impact Grant Requests

United Way of Northern California today announced the March 1st, 2018 opening of the application process for 2019 Community Impact Grants.

Under the program, UWNC will provide grants of between $2,500 and $10,000 to agencies in its nine-county region which, along with Lassen County includes the counties of Butte, Glenn, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama and Trinity.

The competitive application process is open to all local 501c3 non-profits that support United Way’s mission to fight for the health, education and financial stability of all residents in the region.

Applications will be evaluated by United Way staff and by a committee of community members. United Way’s Board of Directors will make the final decisions in June. Grant money will be distributed beginning in January 2019.

Last year, the Board awarded a total of $100,000 in grants to 28 agencies. A list of grantees is available at http://www.norcalunitedway.org/partner-agencies.

“We are particularly interested in programs aligned with our Prosperity Initiative, focusing on youth enrichment and financial stability for families,” said Larry Olmstead, United Way CEO and President. “Also, we want to continue to support organizations that provide vital basic needs in areas such as substance abuse, mental health, domestic violence, senior services and the like.”

Grant applications are available at www.norcalunitedway.org. Applications are due March 30th, 2018 at 11:59 pm Pacific Time. For more information, visit the website or contact Larry Olmstead at [email protected].
