Caring for a loved one with dementia often comes with unique challenges, but local caregivers do not have to navigate the journey alone. Community members are invited to attend “A Caregiver’s Toolbox: Skills for Success,” an informative workshop designed to offer guidance, practical strategies and personal support.
Brought to the community by the Alzheimer’s Association, Passages Caregiver Resource Center, and Northeastern Rural Health Clinic, this free workshop takes place on Tuesday, August 11th, from 1:30p.m. to 2:30p.m. at Northeastern Rural Health Clinic, located at 1850 Spring Ridge Drive in Susanville.
If you are feeling unsure about how to best support your family member or friend, this session provides valuable insights into embracing your loved one’s remaining abilities and keeping them meaningfully engaged through independent activities.
In addition to focus on patient care, attendees will gain actionable tips on stress management and self-care to maintain their own physical and emotional well-being.
