The Lassen County Air Pollution Control District has announced a new program to assist county residents with the replacement of operable and older non-certified wood stoves with cleaner, more fuel-efficient wood heating devices or other less polluting heating appliances. The rebate program is offering $1,500 per stove replaced per household!
Replacements that may qualify for rebates include the replacement of non-EPA certified and pre-1990 wood heating appliances with EPA certified appliances, and replacement of non-EPA certified and pre-1990 wood heating appliances with propane or natural gas appliances.
Criteria:
- Applicant must be a full-time resident of Lassen County
- Applicant must own the residence and reside there, no rental properties will be allowed
- New equipment cannot be purchased prior to receiving application approval
- New device must be installed by licensed contractor
Applications are accepted on a first come first serve basis and submission of an application does not guarantee funding.
