Uptown Safe and Sane Halloween Celebration Starts Friday at 3:00

Ghosts, goblins, vampires and superheroes will roam the streets of uptown Susanville this Friday, October 30th, at the City of Susanville and Historic Uptown Susanville Association’s Annual Safe and Sane Halloween celebration.

Children under 15 are invited to come and ‘Trick or Treat’ at businesses throughout uptown and Main Street will be closed to thru traffic for the safety of all the kids.

From 3:00 until 5:00 uptown businesses will be passing out candy and there will be lots of fun activities for the kids, including a costume contest sponsored by Beta Mu Masters Sorority and pumpkin carving contest with cool prizes!

Even the pets have their own costume contest sponsored by Treats Dog Company.

The big uptown party will feature music by Williams Sound and Stage, dance performances by House of Dance and J&J Performing Arts’ dancers and for the second year – coffin races!

Nearly 20 local businesses have sponsored the racing-coffins and it should be quite the spectacle as they fly across the finish line.
