Uptown Safe and Sane Halloween Coffin Racing and Costume Contest Results

The team from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office took first place in this year’s Coffin Races
Novah Gower’s Jellyfish costume earned her first prize in the 0-4 age group.

The 2017 edition of the Historic Uptown Susanville Association’s big Safe and Sane Halloween event was once again a huge success – drawing a crowd of trick-or-treaters to the party on Susanville’s Main Street for candy, live entertainment, costume contests and coffin races.

The annual event, which is co-sponsored by the City of Susanville, is designed to give Susanville kids a safe place to trick or treat.

Local businesses, civic groups, government agencies and organizations built and raced homemade coffins through uptown.
