USDA Hosting Farm Bill Programs Virtual Workshop This Evening

The US Department of Agriculture will be offering a virtual workshop on financial and technical assistance programs that are offered in Lassen County for farmers, ranchers and non-industrial timber owners this evening at 5:30p.m.

“We will present basic info on what is available for landowners and land that qualifies. These programs are funded through the Farm Bill and offer landowners a way to improve their natural resources on their property,” explains Tiffany Russell, Northeast California Partner Biologist with the Susanville field office of the Natural Resource Conservation Service/Point Blue Conservation Science.

According to Russell the workshop will cover all potential areas where the USDA program can help; irrigation efficiency improvements, fuel treatments, wildlife habitat projects, and post fire assistance.

There will be a social at 5:00p.m. followed by the workshop at 5:30, all done virtually through ZOOM.

Topics will include; Farm Service Agency Programs, Disaster Assistance, Farm Loans, Natural Resources Conservation Service Programs, Environmental Quality Incentives Program, Conservation Stewardship Program and how to apply.

There will also be time for your feedback and questions.
