A UTV accident on Thursday afternoon sent one person to the hospital after their vehicle plummeted approximately 20-30 feet down a cliff in the area of Sunnyside Road and Melanie Lane.
At approximately 1:20p.m. on Thursday, the Janesville Fire District, along with multiple assisting agencies, were dispatched to the scene of the reported accident. First responders arriving on scene discovered a single UTV at the bottom of the embankment with one occupant whose name has not been released.
Crews quickly worked to package the injured individual, who was then transported by air to RENOWN Medical Center for treatment.
The Janesville Fire District extended its gratitude to all agencies that assisted with the rescue operation, including SEMSA Air/Ground, California Correctional Center, Cal-FIRE LMU, Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, and the California Highway Patrol.
