Vehicle vs. Pedestrian on Susanville’s Ash Street

An accident on Susanville’s Ash Street shut down traffic and sent a pedestrian to the hospital with major injuries Tuesday afternoon. The Susanville Police Department responded around 2:40p.m. to Ash Street, between Main and First Streets, on the report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision.

According to a report issued by SPD Captain Tom Downing, investigators on-scene were able to learn that 19 year-old Susanville resident Kelli Ann Williams was driving a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta southbound on Ash Street, and collided with a pedestrian who attempted to cross the road outside of the cross walk.

The collision caused major injuries to the pedestrian, who was transported initially to Banner Lassen Medical Center, then transferred to Renown Medical Center in Reno for head and lower extremity trauma.

The pedestrian’s status is unknown at the time of this press release, and her name is being withheld until later. The Susanville Police Department’s investigation is continuing.
