William Davidson Post 2381 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars will be holding their 2nd annual ‘Welcome Home’ for Vietnam Veterans on April 1st at the Memorial Hall on Main Street.
A full slate of activities are planned for the all-day event, beginning with music by Cindy Nichols and the Jammers from 8:30 to 9:00a.m.
At 9:00 Master of Ceremonies Larry Rogers will make introductions, Post Commander Jim Dandois will lead the Pledge of Allegiance and Korbin Drake will present the National Anthem.
Also on the schedule are Chaplain Donald Moose, who will deliver the Invocation, followed by Lassen County District 1 Supervisor Chris Gallagher and Susanville Mayor Kathy Garnier who will both be presenting proclamations in honor of the day.
The 2nd annual welcome home event will feature guest speaker Maurice Sanchez, a Vietnam veteran who piloted U.S. Army Cobra helicopters.
At 11:30a.m. the VFW post will be sponsoring a lunch downstairs at the Veterans Hall. The cost of the lunch is $6.00 and children under ten years of age eat for half price. The Post Canteen will be open for refreshments.
