William Davidson Post 2381 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars will be holding their 3rd annual ‘Welcome Home’ for Vietnam Veterans this Saturday, March 31st, at the Veterans Memorial Building on Main Street.
A full slate of activities are planned for the event, which will run from 10:00a.m. until 3:00p.m., and is open to the public.
At 9:00 Master of Ceremonies Larry Rogers will make introductions, Post Commander Jim Dandois will lead the Pledge of Allegiance and Hannah Danes, from Johnstonville School, will sing the National Anthem.
Also on the schedule are VFW Post Chaplain Anthony Lares, who will deliver both the Invocation and Benediction, followed by Lassen County District 1 Supervisor Chris Gallagher and Susanville Mayor Pro Tem Joe Franco who will both be presenting proclamations in honor of the day.
The 3rd annual welcome home event will feature honored guest Mel Morrison, a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam during 1962.
At 12:00a.m. the VFW post will be sponsoring a free lunch downstairs at the Veterans Hall. The Post Canteen will be open for refreshments.
