At 651 PM PDT… Doppler radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. These storms were located along a line extending from 8 miles northeast of Doyle to near Herlong… moving north at 25 mph. Penny size hail may also accompany the damaging winds.
Locations impacted include… Doyle… Herlong… Wendel and amedee Army airfield.
Precautionary/preparedness actions…
Wind damage with this storm will occur well ahead of any rain or lightning. Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover. Seek shelter immediately inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows.

At 609 PM PDT… National Weather Service meteorologists were tracking a strong thunderstorm near Chilcoot… moving north at 30 mph.
Wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with this storm along with brief heavy rain.
Locations impacted include…
Chilcoot… Vinton… Frenchman Lake… Big Cove campground… Frenchman campground… Spring Creek Campground and Chilcoot campground.
Precautionary/preparedness actions…
If on or near a lake… get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle now. Don’t be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
Strong wind gusts and lightning pose an immediate danger to boaters. Gusty winds will cause a rapid increase in wave heights which may capsize small boats.

Red flag warning remains in effect until 10 PM PDT Sunday for thunderstorms with little rainfall for fire weather zones 214… 221… 268 and 269…
* wind… local wind gusts up to 40 to 50 mph possible near thunderstorms.
* Thunderstorms… developing Saturday late in the afternoon or in the evening… and again on Sunday. Some storms possible late Saturday night into early Sunday morning.
* Impacts… lightning fire starts possible. Fires could spread rapidly in very dry fuels.
Precautionary/preparedness actions…
A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now… or will shortly. A combination of lightning from thunderstorms… low relative humidity… warm
temperatures and very dry fuels will create explosive fire growth potential.

front… fire zone 458 northern Washoe County and fire zone 459 Mineral and southern Lyon counties.
Thunderstorms… isolated to scattered thunderstorms may produce gusty outflow winds and dry lightning strikes outside the rain cores.
Outflow winds… gusts 35 to 55 mph are possible especially today. Outflows could extend upwards of 20 miles or more away from storm cells.
Impacts… lightning may create new fire starts and combine with strong outflow winds to produce rapid fire growth. Strong and erratic outflow winds could impact airborne fire
suppression operations.
