Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Reno have extended the Heat Advisory here in Lassen County until 9:00a.m. Sunday.
Today and tomorrow, high temperatures here in the valley will be ranging from 97 to 101 degrees. That, combined with mild overnight lows between 60 to 68 degrees, will lead to a widespread Moderate to Major HeatRisk.
The Heat Advisory is in place for Lassen, eastern Plumas and eastern Sierra counties.
Heat related illnesses will be more likely, especially for those spending extended periods outdoors, in poorly cooled indoor spaces, or who are sensitive to heat.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room if possible, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
