Weather Bulletin: Heat Advisory Issued for Next Four Days

Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Reno have issued a Heat Advisory, in effect from 10:00a.m. Saturday until 10:00a.m. Wednesday.

Daytime temperatures in the 90s to near 100 this weekend into next week will result in a prolonged period of Moderate Heat Risk and heat health impacts for those sensitive to heat or those without access to effective cooling.

Along with Lassen County the Heat Advisory covers the Lake Tahoe Area, Surprise Valley, eastern Plumas, eastern Sierra and Mono County.

Heat related illnesses increase significantly during heat events, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave children and pets in unattended vehicles.
