Weather Bulletin: Heat Advisory Now in Effect Until Friday Morning

Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Reno have issued a Heat Advisory, which will be in effect until Friday morning, warning that daytime temperatures will be in the 90s to near 100 through most of next week, resulting in a prolonged period of Moderate to Major HeatRisk and heat health impacts for those sensitive to heat or those without access to effective cooling.

Along with Lassen and Plumas counties, this warning is for Lake Tahoe, Surprise Valley, eastern Sierra and Mono counties until 10:00a.m. Friday.

Heat related illnesses increase significantly during prolonged heat events, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.

The weather folks say to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
