Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Reno have issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 4:00p.m. today until 4:00p.m., Wednesday.
Weather prognosticators expect snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches west of Highway 395 with higher amounts, up to one foot, along ridges.
Ridge winds of 35mph are expected, with gusts up to fifty mph.
The Winter Weather Advisory applies to Lassen, eastern Plumas and eastern Sierra counties. Travel in these areas could be very difficult between now and Wednesday afternoon.
The strongest winds will be on Monday night into Tuesday morning.
