Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Reno have issued a Freeze Watch for Lassen, eastern Plumas and eastern Sierra counties, including the cities of Susanville, Westwood, Portola, Loyalton and Sierraville.
Sub-freezing temperatures with lows between 21 and 27 degrees are expected from this evening overnight and into Friday morning.
Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly.
