Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Reno have issued a Winter Weather Advisory, in effect from this morning until Saturday at 10:00p.m. for areas above 5,500 feet, warning that snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches with locally up to 10 inches are possible.
Winds will be gusting as high as 35mph beginning this morning.
The National Weather Service has also issued a Winter Storm Watch, in effect from late Saturday night into Monday evening. During that period forecasters expect heavy wet snow about 5,500 feet with snow accumulations of 1 to 2 feet.
Winds this weekend will be gusting as high as 60mph.
Both warnings are in effect for Lassen, eastern Plumas and eastern Sierra counties.
