Weather Bulletin: Winter Storm Advisory in Effect Until 7:00 This Evening

Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Reno have issued a Winter Weather Advisory for areas above 6,000 feet in elevation, in effect from this morning until 7:00 this evening.

Snow accumulations of 1 to 5 inches are expected above 6,000 feet with heavy rain down to the valley floors. Up to 8 inches of snow is possible along the highest peaks.

Ridge winds will be gusting as high as 45mph. South to southwest winds up to 35
to 40mph below 6,000 feet here in Lassen and Plumas counties.

Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact holiday travel as well as the Tuesday morning and evening commutes.

Stronger winds in wind prone areas for portions of Highway 395 are likely in Lassen County between Susanville and the state border.

Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
