Weather Bulletin: Winter Storm Hits Tonight Bringing Lots of Moisture

Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Reno have issued a Winter Weather Advisory warning area residents to expect heavy snow above 5,000 feet, with accumulations up to eight inches in the mountains west of Susanville.

Winds will be gusting as high as 45mph.

The Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Lassen, eastern Plumas and eastern Sierra counties from 10:00 this evening until 10:00p.m., Wednesday.

Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Snow levels are projected to rise up to near 7,000 feet after 10:00p.m., on Wednesday, which will limit additional snow totals. Roads will remain slick and wet with additional rainfall.

Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
