Weather Bulletin: Winter Storm Warning in Effect Tonight

Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Reno have issued a Winter Storm Warning as heavy snow, with accumulations of 3 to 8 inches locally, is expected to arrive this evening and last into Friday morning.

The Storm Warning will be in effect from 7:00 this evening until 10:00 Friday morning for Lassen, eastern Plumas and eastern Sierra counties and Surprise Valley. In Nevada, Northern Washoe County.

Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult.

The heavy snowfall is expected to remain north of Susanville and Gerlach, impacting areas along Highway 44 near Bogard, Highway 299 through Bieber, Highway 395 through Madeline and the Surprise Valley around Cedarville.
