
Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Reno have issued a Winter Storm Warning, in effect from 10:00p.m. Sunday until 10:00p.m. Wednesday, as heavy snow is expected down to the valley floor.
Snow accumulations will range between 6 and 12 inches west of Highway 395, with local high elevation totals west of Highway 89 up to 2 feet.
Here in the Honey Lake Valley, 2 to 6 inches of snow are expected, with wind gusts up to 45mph. Wind prone locations along Highway 395 will see 65mph winds.
The winter storm warning was issued for Lassen, eastern Plumas and eastern Sierra counties.
Travel could be very difficult to impossible.
Elevations below 5,000 feet will initially start as rain, changing to snow Monday afternoon into evening for all elevations.
