Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Reno have issued a Winter Storm Warning for Lassen, eastern Plumas and eastern Sierra counties as another wave of winter weather brings dangerous conditions between now and Saturday night.
Heavy snow is expected with accumulations between 3 to 8 inches below 5,500 feet west of Highway 395 and 12 to 20 inches above 5,500 feet.
Localized amounts up to 3 feet on the highest peaks. Wind gusts as high as 45 mph. Ridge wind gusts as high as 75 mph.
Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the commutes Friday and Saturday. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
