Weather Bulletin: Winter Weather Advisory for This Afternoon

The National Weather Service office in Reno has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for areas above 6,000 feet in Lassen, eastern Plumas and eastern Sierra counties, in effect this afternoon through Thursday at 4:00p.m.

Forecasters expected snow above 6,000 feet with total snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches west of Highway 395 and up to 4 inches east of Highway 395.

12 to 18 inches are forecast above 7,000 feet. Winds will be gusting as high as 90mph along the ridges.

Travel could be very difficult at times, beginning late this afternoon. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning trips to school or work. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Strong winds and heavy snow rates may produce localized white out conditions.

Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5-1-1.
