Susanville’s resident meteorological expert, Dr. Owen Bateson reports receiving 1.87 inches of rain since the stormy hit on Friday.
According to Dr. Bateson this brings November’s total to 2.77 inches and raises our yearly percentage from 40% on Friday to 91% as of Monday morning.
“November’s total is normally 2.97 inches,” explains Bateson, “so we have already received 93% of November’s total rainfall during the first 18 days.”
Rainfall up at Eagle Lake is a different story however. Bateson said that since last Friday the Spalding SCSD weather station has recorded only .66 inches of precipitation and 1.38 inches so far this year.
“They have received only 37% of what I have measured on Gold Run here in Susanville,” said Bateson, “I think this is largely due to the PG &E cloud seeding project that has been ongoing in the Lake Almanor area since 1957.”
