The Lassen County Office of Education’s annual Children’s Fair scheduled for this Saturday at the fairgrounds has been cancelled according to Superintendent Patty Gunderson.
“We are sad to report that the Children’s Fair/STEAM EXPO scheduled for Saturday, May 7th, has been cancelled,” said Gunderson this morning.
“The weather is calling for a 90% chance of rain and thunderstorms. While we have had rain in year’s past, the expected amount of rainfall and the threat of lightening force us to cancel the event. Thank you to the wonderful community members who help to make this event such an awesome day for our families every year!”
Event organizer James Hall said that, after much consideration, the Office of Education has decided not to reschedule the event for this year.
