Lassen County Clerk Julie Bustamante has announced an extended candidate filing deadline for the November 3rd, 2026, General Election.
Any eligible resident—other than the incumbent—wishing to run for an open seat in districts where an incumbent did not file has until the close of business at 5:00p.m. this Wednesday, August 12th, to file a Declaration of Candidacy.
The extended deadline applies specifically to districts where an incumbent is eligible to run but has not filed.

Candidate Qualifications
To qualify, candidates must be registered voters, eligible to vote for the office at the time nomination papers are issued and reside within the district during their term.
