Eagle Lake Village and Margie’s Book Nook are teaming up to feature a full compliment of our area’s most accomplished literary personalities, all done up with world-class hors d’oeuvres and Champagne, and you are invited!
Authors Don Sokol, Ben Wade, George Sargent, Lynne Sella, Michielle Noonberg and Dr. James Snell will all be on hand to discuss and sign their books along with special guest Tom Gauthier, one of Lassen County’s most prolific authors with a series of books to his name.
“I love this event because it gets the public out to visit with senior citizens,” said Margie’s Book Nook owner David Teeter who is organizing the evening. “Too often in this country we have a warehouse mentality when in comes to dealing with aging when studies show the elderly need more human interaction not less.”
Eagle Lake Village’s new Executive Chef Daniel Miranda will create special hors d’oeuvres for the evening like shrimp Ramaki, bacon wrapped bourbon marinated salmon, peanut sesame chicken wings, baked banana fritters and more. Hors d’oeuvres will be served with a glass of Champagne.
Along with good food and authors the mood at Eagle Lake Village will be set by a jazz trio featuring author, and Susanville Symphony Artistic Director, Ben Wade.
The Festival of Books will be held this Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00p.m., at Eagle Lake Village, 2001 Paul Bunyan Road. For more information call 257-6673.
