You know those people who just make life feel a little bit easier by being around them? That’s Angel Ortiz.
Angel and I were pregnant at the same time — all of our kids ended up being the same age, which is still kind of wild to think about. Except Angel went and pulled a move that only Angel could pull… she had a sneaky fourth baby. Like, who does that and still manages to smile through it all? Angel does.
What makes her stand out isn’t that she’s juggling a thousand things (though she is — twins, school, kids, all of it). What makes her so special is that she’s the most down-to-earth person you’ll ever meet. She’s not loud about anything. She’s just real completely and unapologetically herself.
Talking to Angel feels easy. She listens, she laughs, and she makes everyone around her feel like they belong.
And yeah, she’s a mom of twins. And she’s in nursing school, almost ready to graduate. There are no shortcuts, no magic tricks. She just does what needs to be done, day after day. Angel is the definition of, “doing what you have to do until you can do what you want to do.” She never complains, even when life is crazy. She just keeps moving forward.
The best part? I’ve never once heard her say anything mean about anyone. No gossip, no drama — just kindness. She’s the type of person other women genuinely like to be around because she’s not competing with anyone. She’s just cheering for everyone, doing her thing, and keeping it real.
That’s why people like Angel make this place special. She’s proof that you can do hard things with grace, stay humble, and lift other people up and that is exactly why she is one of the reasons I love where we live.
