Lassen Axe just got new owners, and it’s already clear the McKernan family are not just here to run a business they’re here to be part of the community.
I want to say that first and foremost. You can tell by the way they’re already supporting local teams, fundraisers, hosting events and making sure families have a place to hang out after school or work.
These owners aren’t new to giving back. It’s not about flashy promotions or empty promises. It’s about showing up and doing what matters, something that if you know them, you know they will deliver.
If you are unaware, our community has a new go-to hangout spot called Lassen Axe. It is the spot to throw axes and have a good time, but it’s also becoming a place where people connect.
The new owners are already rolling out deals for kids, handing out pizza, and making sure the space is open for families and friends. They’re thinking ahead, too, with plans for things like a golf simulator to keep things fresh and fun for everyone.
They’re already working with other local businesses, connecting with families, and promising more ways to give back. That’s how you build something lasting by showing up for the community, not just for the customers.
You know the saying around town “I’m bored”. But when a business like Lassen Axe reopens let’s prove we can make them sustainable. They will not last without our support. Fact.
If we want more family activities, team events, Friday night entertainment, the ball starts with supporting the local businesses who have already taken the first step for us.
Next time the “there is nothing to do around here” chatter comes up, flip the script and say, “let’s go to Lassen Axe”. Every visit, every party, every pizza you buy helps a small-town business become one of our go-to destinations.
Support them and you become part of why this town runs. And THEY are definitely worth showing up for. That’s why we love this place.
