Updated: 6:42 Richmond Road has been reopened to traffic according to Lassen OES Chief Eric Ewing.
There were some tense moments this evening as fire fighters battled a brush fire that burned through the field just south of the Maurino Manor housing development near Diamond View School.
The fire, which was reported at around 5:40p.m., closed down Richmond Road for around 40 minutes and burned approximately one-acre of brush, with some minor damage to fences along the subdivision.
Structures were threatened during the fire, but quick action by crews kept flames from getting into the residences.
Agencies responding to the fire included Cal-Fire, Lassen OES, BLM, City of Susanville Fire Department, CHP, Susanville Police, Lassen County Sheriff’s Office and the Susan River Fire District.
