Winter Snowshoe Walks

There is nothing like spending time outside during the winter to breathe in the crisp air and enjoy the winter wonderland on snow shoes.

The Eagle Lake Ranger District will begin their winter snowshoe walk and education programs this month.

“This is a great opportunity for people to try a new activity and learn more about the forest and wildlife in winter,” said Jill Poulsen of the Eagle Lake Ranger District.

Walks will be held on Saturday January 9th, January 16th, and January 23rd from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and the Forest Service will meet participants at the Eagle Lake Ranger District Office.

Interested participants are advised to call and reserve their space for the walks and to bring a hat, gloves, water, snacks, snow boots, sunglasses, and dress in layers. The Forest Service will provide snowshoes.

Additional snowshoe walks are available by special request for school and educational programs.

Cross country skiers are welcome to join the walks. Call the Eagle Lake Ranger District at (530) 257-4188 for information and to sign up.
